Compare with other systems
| System | Film thickness | Cure | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| PG-S1 Waterborne polysiloxane (sol-gel) | 5–15 μm | Thermal or ambient | New coils before shipment, OEM dip lines |
| PG-S2 Polysiloxane-urethane clearcoat | 5–10 μm | 160 °C / 60 min | Aluminium radiators, bakeable heat exchangers |
| PG-W Waterborne two-component | 5–10 g/m² per side | 80 °C touch-dry | Coil lines, mild coastal and humid sites |
| PG-CThis system Air-dry two-component, chemical-resistant | 20–40 μm | Ambient 72 h | Complete units, chemical and wastewater sites |
Where PG-C fits
PG-C covers the jobs thin films cannot: complete units that must not be baked, installations near wastewater and chemical plants, and coating on site. It is sprayed at 20–40 μm, touch-dry in four hours and fully cured after 72 hours at ambient temperature.
Film thickness and fins
The thicker film is what gives PG-C its chemical resistance, but it also narrows the gap between fins. On high-density coils, spray technique and a bridging check after coating matter more than with thin films.

Can PG-C be baked to speed up the cure?
Yes. It cures in 30 minutes at 170 °C, but complete units cannot be baked, so ambient cure is the usual route.
Does the thicker film reduce heat transfer?
A 20–40 μm film has more effect than a 5–15 μm film, especially where it bridges fins. PG-C is chosen when chemical resistance matters more than a small efficiency loss.
Is PG-C shipped as dangerous goods?
It is solvent-based and is expected to ship as dangerous goods. The safety data sheet with the transport classification is supplied with the quote.
