Coil Coating Systems
Coating chemistries for heat exchangers, selected by exposure — not by brand.
Pelagard coating systems
- PG-S1Waterborne Polysiloxane (Sol-Gel) Coil CoatingPG-S1 is a 5–15 μm waterborne polysiloxane sol-gel film for copper and aluminium coils, tested at ≤ 1.8% heat-transfer loss and ≥ 2,000 h salt spray.
- PG-S2Baked Polysiloxane-Urethane ClearcoatPG-S2 is a 5–10 μm baked polysiloxane-urethane clearcoat for aluminium radiators and heat exchangers that can go into an oven.
- PG-WWaterborne Two-Component Coil CoatingsPG-W is a waterborne two-component coil coating applied at 5–10 g/m² per side on coil lines, for mild coastal and humid sites.
- PG-CAir-Dry Two-Component Chemical-Resistant CoatingPG-C is a 20–40 μm air-dry two-component coating for complete outdoor units, field work and chemical, wastewater and H₂S exposure.
Coating technologies
- Nano Coatings for Heat ExchangersWhat "nano coating" means for HVAC coils, what sol-gel thin films really do, and how to check nano coating claims before you buy.
- E-Coating (Electrocoat) for Heat ExchangersHow e-coating (electrocoat, cataphoresis) protects heat exchangers, why the film is so even, and the line investment it needs.
- Pre-Coated Fin Stock (Blue Fin, Gold Fin)What blue fin, gold fin and hydrophilic pre-coated fin stock protect, and why cut edges, collars and copper tubes stay bare.
- Aluminium-Pigmented Polyurethane Coil CoatingWhat aluminium-pigmented polyurethane coil coatings are, where their UV resistance and field application help, and where film build becomes a limit.
- Baked Phenolic Coil CoatingWhy baked phenolic coatings are specified for chemical exposure, what they need in application and cure, and their limits in sunlight and on complete units.
- Acrylic Hybrid Coatings for CoilsWhat acrylic hybrid coil coatings are, why they suit field spraying and sunny sites, and where their chemical resistance falls short.
