Can New Imported Units Be Coated Before Installation?
Key facts
| Step | What happens |
|---|---|
| 1. Specification | System chosen from site category and equipment list |
| 2. Collection | Units collected from the supplier factory |
| 3. Coating | Dip, spray or full-unit route on a partner line |
| 4. QC and packing | Thickness, coverage and cure checked; packed for sea freight |
| 5. Loading | Delivered to the port with the batch report |
Before or after the voyage
Coating before loading avoids a second handling step at the destination and keeps the site programme clear. Once units are on site, they can still be coated locally, but the options narrow to field spray.
Which units can be done
Loose coils, condensing units, VRF and split outdoor units, chillers and dry coolers. Complete units with controls are not baked; they follow the masking route or have their coils removed.
What you receive
A batch QC report with film thickness, cure and photo records, shipped with the goods and sent by email before arrival.
What this means for your project
Order the coating at the same time as the equipment so the coating slot is booked before the units leave the factory. Check the OEM warranty position before ordering.
